If you really want something, you'll find a way
In 2010, I first set foot inside Plastchem, then still a small company located on the well-known Wavin site with just eight colleagues. From day one, it felt right. What started as an ordinary workday grew into daily motivation and job satisfaction. When something truly energizes you, you want to get the best out of it. Where there's a will, there's a way, that's what I always say. And so, I grew along with the company into my current role as assistant production manager.
From the shop floor to the football field
Football, like my work, plays an important role in my life. It's both a hobby and a way for me to release energy. Combining work and sport requires discipline, but I find that I perform better when I stay active. Sport helps me maintain structure, stay balanced, and remain mentally and physically sharp. On the field, just like at work, I want to get the best out of myself and the team. It’s incredibly rewarding to see players show up to training with enthusiasm, that same feeling I get when colleagues come to work with energy and drive.
The similarities between work and football are clear
In both worlds, it’s all about collaboration, motivation, and achieving a shared goal. As a coach, you learn to motivate people, take responsibility, and maintain oversight, skills I apply every day at Plastchem. Whether it’s organizing shifts or setting up a production plan, it all comes down to structure, teamwork, and engagement.
A positive work atmosphere and safety, that’s where my focus lies
Colleagues don’t need to show up with a big smile every day, but job satisfaction and engagement are definitely worth striving for, and that’s my focus. Colleagues should enjoy coming to work, period. In addition to keeping the factory running, I make sure everything stays tidy, organized, and above all, workable for the team. Safety is the foundation of good work. Without safe working conditions, you can’t deliver quality. Every day, I ensure procedures are followed, protective equipment is used correctly, and colleagues are aware of their own responsibilities.
Working at Plastchem doesn’t feel like an obligation
Even during my holidays, I sometimes catch myself hopping on my bike toward Plastchem. Not because I have to, but because I feel involved. It’s my second home... although I must admit, the football field also holds a special place in my heart.
